With the end of an era (5 years!) it seems like time to start a new introductions thread.

Welcome and introduce yourself!

I'm Jennifer Peterson (aka jenpeter or JP) and I'm the Community Programs Manager for your WebJunction. I guess you could call me the Julie McCoy of WJ, here to make sure you have all you need to make your experience all it can be. I've worked in and for libraries since 1993 and can't think of any place I'd rather be.

Well, if Jen is Julie, I guess that makes me (a pre-politics) Gopher.

I span both the community team and product management teams here at WJ -- you'll find me active around the site in discussions, groups and topic areas, as well as behind the scenes gathering feedback to make sure future iterations of WJ meet your needs. So if you've got an idea, please share it.

I look forward to this new chapter of the WebJunction story!emoticon

Julie and Gopher...I love it! I guess that makes George the captain.

Back to introductions...Lori Reed, Learning Coordinator for the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County.

Hoping to use the new site as a way to collaborate and share training materials with other trainers.

Ooh, then can I be Isaac? I do make a pretty good cocktail...

I'm Sharon Streams, and I am the site editor here at WebJunction. Although my avatar doesn't currently display the real me, you can picture me with a red pencil behind my ear. The trick is, I haven't figured out how to use the pencil on my computer screen, so I have resorted to a mouse and keyboard.

I'm Bob Watson, aka "librarybob" several places on the web. I tend the bar here at St. Jerry's Virtual Scriptorium and Coffee House.

In what passes for real life, I'm the director of a middlin' sized library near Chicago, working with a wonderful idea-filled, eager, and energetic staff.

Hello:

I must say I find the website a lot more interactive, professional and interesting to say the list. I am Gbola Olasina, and lecture in a library and information school in Nigeria. I look forward to some collab with other teachers in LIPs who teach ICT based courses. My interests are in DL, and internet tools for library services.

Thank you.

I hope someone from staff comes by, but if not ... Welcome to WebJunction, Gbola!

Welcome Gbola! I'm always thrilled to meet an international member. emoticon

Did you know that WJ has an International Libraries topic area? It is in need of some articles. We would love to hear more about the challenges and solutions for librarians around the world. The virtual world offers us great opportunities to share knowledge and experience.

I'm glad you found our community.
