Template for Pocket Response Plan for Kansas Cultural Institutions
This template is being used within Kansas Cultural Institutions to provide staff with necessary information in the event of an emergency or disaster. Side A deals with communications and can be used to collect contact information for the individuals and organizations needed to talk with in the first minutes and hours after an emergency occurs. Side B provides step-by-step instructions for library and affiliated personnel who will respond to a disaster affecting their particular institution. Extra space is provided the adding of floor plans and photos. This document is NOT intended to be a substitute for a comprehensive emergency plan. Instead, it should distill the most important tasks to be taken in the first minutes and hours after an event occurs that affects collections, especially those that occur when staff members are away from their offices. The plan prints on legal size paper and after edges are trimmed is folded and placed in a PReP™ Tyvek® envelope for protection, available from CoSA http://www.statearchivists.org/prepare © 2006 Council of State Archivists (CoSA). This plan has been adapted by WESTPAS & State Library of Kansas.
