This session delivered at PLA 2010 explores the concept of a learning organization and the application of the concept in libraries.

Presenters:

  • Betha Gutsche (WebJunction/ WA) gave an overview and defined the characteristics of the concept.
  • Michele Leininger (Pierce County Public Library/ WA) related the process and experience of the evolution of her library system to becoming a learning organization.
  • Jennifer Fenton (Washington State Library) explored the opportunities for informal and self-directed learning.
  • Kathleen Gesinger (WebJunction/ WA) discussed peer learning and using virtual tools to connect.
