A compilation of competency statements that address a broad spectrum of library service and practice.
WebJunction has aggregated and synthesized competency definitions from a number of library organizations, subjected them to vigorous subject matter expert review, and published them in the attached Competency Index for the Library Field [PDF]. (Also attached, MS Word version)
WebJunction intends for the Index to be a compilation from which a wide variety of libraries can build competency sets to meet their individual needs. Please feel free to download the pdf (1.85 MB), distribute widely, re-mix, and re-purpose as you see fit.
