Description:

This course, developed in conjunction with the Nebraska Library Commission, was designed to support its 2006 Library Board Manual. The course is for new trustee or board members, ready to begin their responsibilities but searching for more information on what the job entails.

This material does not assume that the new trustee has any particular level of experience with libraries, advanced academic background, educational level or special training. The authors felt strongly that new trustees should be encouraged to be pro-active, interconnected with various aspects of the library and aware of the constant level of change within a library.
