I think the difference here is clientele and goals:<br /><br />Goals &#045; might be different in the different types of libraries. IE., public libraries are ultimately interested in anyone and everyone coming in... academic libraries have some obvious target audiences built in.<br /><br />Clientele &#045; academics have students, profs, staff, distance ed students, etc...<br /><br />The main thing to do with ANY type of library is to establish some goals &#045; what do you hope to accomplish? Then go after those. And that doesn&#039;t change between library types.
