Making a budget presentation can be a real challenge. What information do you present? How do you arrange the presentation? Where do you even get started? The State Library in Iowa has done a great job by putting together a collection that they call the toolkit for Telling the Library Story. Attached to this page, you will find two templates that can be used for creating a great budget presentation that can be used to show a funding organization.
The first file (CountyBudget-Iowa.ppt) is the original that was created by Iowa that was designed to help libraries that are part of county systems. Some of the details are specific to the needs in Iowa, but you will get the gist and can modify it to fit your library's needs.
The second file (Budget-General.ppt) is almost identical has been adapted from the original for general use. In that file, you will find instructions in the Notes section of the presentation as well as script suggestions.
This is a great way to get started on a great presentation about your library.
