A group for WebJunction members who are interested in or who have enrolled in the self-paced course, Spanish Language Outreach.

Connect with others who are taking the course, learn and share together to complement your self-paced learning experience. The course is half-price if you enroll before the end of May. You then have a year to complete the course and, while there's no formal timeline for completing the course, we'll be hosting an informal online session toward the end of the summer to gather with fellow learners to share our experiences and outreach action plan outcomes.

The course description provides a complete set of learning goals, but here's a quick outline of what's covered in the course:

Overview of current landscape of Hispanic/Latino Population, access to technology and existing library services.
Understanding cultural differences and the dimensions of diversity.
Developing an outreach action plan including needs assessment, building community partnerships, planning, programming and marketing.
Implementing computer classes for Spanish speakers.
Evaluating the impacts of outreach.
