Are you Waving?
6:49 PM EST 1/21/10
I learned about Google Wave during the summer of 2009 and received my invitation on October 31, 2009. I have a few invitations left, though you can also sign up for Google Wave Preview Edition on this page.

I wrote about Google Wave for Searcher: The Magazine for Database Professionals (submitted January 15, 2010) and while I'm certainly no expert, I hope that this group will serve as a focal point for libraries, librarians and other information professionals who are part of WebJunction to share their ideas, knowledge and tools for making the most of Google Wave within a library context.

There is certainly lots to explore with Google Wave, though it's not something designed for solo surfing. I hope that others will start to add resources they encounter that will benefit the group. Obviously there are two prerequisites for Waving: a Google Account and your acceptance by Google Wave as a preview (alpha) edition user. In order to Wave with another Google Account holder, that entity has to have a Google Wave account, otherwise this is the error message you'll see "User does not have a Google Wave account" if you attempt to add a contact (the "+" sign to the right of Manage Contacts.

Thanks Julie. I too have invitations available. Anyone can also use the Google Wave signup page at https://services.google.com/fb/forms/wavesignup/ to request an invitation. I don't know if it's faster to get on to Google Wave by being invited by an existing user or by applying through that signup page.

If anyone wants to add me to their Google Wave Contacts, my e-mail address should be visible on my public profile page to WebJunction signed-in users. Otherwise, it's at http://davidmattison.wordpress.com/contact/.
