I read this on BHIC, which is a blog written by Siobahn Champ-Blackwell of NNLM and often features good resources for services to refuguees.

Integrating Immigrant Families in Emergency Response, Relief and Rebuilding Efforts is a new publication by Annie E. Casey Foundation that helps service providers incorporate new refugee and immigrant populations into local emergency response efforts. The report mainly focuses on how to address language barriers in emergency preparedness for Limited English Proficient (LEP) communities. The report also includes lists of sources for LEP preparedness, which service providers will find helpful. Download the PDF file at http://www.gcir.org/publications/gcirpubs/emergency] The Ethnic Community Self-Help Program is a grant provided by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to public, private or faith-based programs that connect refugees and their communities to resources within their new American communities. ORR is looking for national, regional or local programs that help in community building, cultural adjustment and integration of refugees into their new lives in the United States. The deadline is February 24, 2009. http://www.acf.hhs.gov/grants/open/HHS-2008-ACF-ORR-RE-0117.html [posted on [brycs] BRYCS December Bulletin Alert]
