Current funding for the Gi21 program ended on September 30, 2008 and the information found in the program modules is up-to-date as of December 31, 2008.  To facilitate use of the modules from now till the future continuation of the program, new documents can be posted from each module and sub-module main pages and the community discussions are open.  However the main module pages and documents will not be updated.  If you have any questions, please contact Kirsten Clark.


There are a number of federal government agencies that deal with homeland security issues. Most of them are sub-agencies of the Department of Homeland Security. This page provides basic navigation of these agencies and the resources on their web sites.

Guides to Resources

In addition to finding information on the agencies' web sites, there are databases that can lead you to government research in the area of Homeland Security:

  • Defense Technical Reports

    This is the database of reports written regarding defense. You can find information on homeland security, the after effects of attacks and other homeland security information. The newer reports in this database are available in full-text, to access the older materials contact your local depository library.
     
  • Homeland Security Digital Library
    https://www.hsdl.org/

    This database requires a free registration to use (unless you use it at your local depository library). In here are all the reports put out by the government and selected non-governmental organizations on homeland security issues. You can search the database or browse by topic.
     
  • Government Accountability Office: Homeland Security http://www.gao.gov/docsearch/featured/homelandsecurity.html

    Want to read reports on how the government is addressing homeland security issues? This agency conducts non-partisan investigations on the efficiency and effectiveness of government programs.
