About Me I am the WebJunction Kansas coordinator and work with continuing education for the State Library of Kansas. I have worked with Kansas libraries since 1993. For several years I worked as a private consultant in the areas of library technology, planning and leadership. During the past 15 years I have watched online information activity explode from my early days as a Gopher addict. Barrels of fun for me being involved in the launch of a social networked WebJunction. Looks like my online dreams are coming true. Time to update them.

About Me

Excerpted from: http://peterbromberg.com/about/

I am the Assistant Director at the South Jersey Regional Library Cooperative (SJRLC), a multi-type consortium in New Jersey. One of my main duties is to provide continuing education opportunities to library staff in the 630+ libraries in the southern seven counties of New Jersey.

I am proud to have helped develop and manage QandANJ.org, New Jersey's 24/7 virtual reference service. We were the first 24/7 collaborative virtual reference service, and sometimes I get asked to go somewhere and talk about how we "did it good".

My ALA activities include a three year stint as Secretary for ALA's Continuing Library Education Network and Exchange Round Table (CLENE). I currently serve as membership chair and webmaster for CLENE, and recently developed CEBuzz (http://cebuzz.wordpress.org) a collaborative blog that addresses continuing education and staff development. I am also very involved in the planning of ALA's Emerging Leaders program. Locally, I have served as Chair of NJLA's Professional Development Committee, co-Chaired New Jersey's Train-the-Trainer program and actively develop and present for our "Super Library Supervisors" series.

I enjoy speaking and presenting, and currently serve as President of a Toastmasters club for librarians. I'd be happy to talk to other librarians who are interested in setting up their own local chapter.

In my spare time I play as much tennis as I can and have been enjoying learning improv over the past year or two, and recently began taking guitar lessons.

COACHING

I have been offering personal coaching services (sometimes called life coaching, or executive coaching) since July, 2006. I am still learning how to do it, but seem to have a natural ability for it and enjoy it quite a bit. I am receiving training on how to be an effective coach from one of the best -- a former President of the NJ Coaches Association.

If you are interested in learning more about coaching, or think you may find value in being coached, check out my coaching page, or get in touch with me.

In addition to continuing education and staff development, I am very interested in customer service (aka customer experience) and the idea of "library as place". These interests and ideas are often informed by my experience working at Nordstrom. Sometimes I blab about these and other topics at my blog, Library Garden (http://librarygarden.blogspot.com) . Complete info about me me me is available at my homepage: peterbromberg.com

About Me I am the Program Coordinator for the Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative in NJ. We cover Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties. I formerly worked as the Head of Reference for the Paterson Free Public Library, in Paterson, NJ, and before that as a Librarian at the Clifton (NJ) Public Library. I have been involved with WebJunction's Spanish Language Outreach Program, attending their institute in Seattle and then working with them on the webinars! I am very interested in technology and social software, as well as gaming and literacy. I love reading, being on the computer, knitting and traveling. I received my MLIS from Rutgers (SCILS) in 2003 and am currently a part-time lecturer for the School of Communication, Information and Library Science there. I think WebJunction is awesome! :-)

About Me Online since mid-90s. Used to publish in the professional journals (to little notice) and took to conversing with library users (who often understood what I was talking about). Active in online communities, am currently discussion host in one, have been a host in several. Director of a middlin' sized public library (we just cracked 1,000,000 circs this year -- 2007/08). I believe in professionalism, delegation, and management by wandering around. My "mantra" is a question for staff ... "What can I do for you today?" I figure my job is to empower them, not to micromanage them.
