I find that those who have embraced Library2.0 are far from being 2.0ed out. They are my evangelists.

I do library marketing on the state level and am constantly surprised at how long it takes for a concept/slogan/program to catch on. I'm already bored with it by the time some people are just becoming excited about it! A personal story: I was intimidated by Library 2.0 until just 15 months ago. I knew something about it, but hoped I could live nicely without it! As it turns out, it was simpler than I ever imagined. Yes, I could post; Yes, I figured out how to RSS; Yes, I could bookmark. Let's let our library community become confident with 2.0 before we change the name. Unfortunately, i have been running into lots of bad luck, hurdles, and other walls preventing me from learning about library science. The economy and finances may have a little to do with it, but i have other problems. I have a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree and researching/looking into a Master's library science degree with the U of I Champaign being a logical choice with their LEEP program. However, I would like to gain experience in a library setting first before making a commitment to the degree. This is the bad part no local library will hire me since i have no library experience even with my 4 year degree, having a president of the friend of the library as a reference, and having a friend who knows someone on the library board. i cannot even get a page job (it is reserved for teeenagers i think and i think some libraries have a preference for certain types of employees, which i cannot prove discrimination. Just thought i would try this out and see what responses i get and then decide if this is a sign that library science is not for me.

Welcome Library 2.0 Interest Group!

I’d like to welcome your group to WebJunction and point out some of the resources available in the Member Center.
<ul style='list-style-type: disc';>
Help and Support for FAQ, helpful discussions and ways to contact us.

Getting Started for a number of short intro videos on WJ tools.

A User Guide which includes details on groups.

Welcome again and please let us know if you have questions.

Library 2.0 on Ning

I just want to put a plug in for the social network I created on ning - http://library20.ning.com .
