Foursquare.com success stories?

I was thinking of offering incentives for Foursquare.com users in our library system. There is not a large foursquare following (as far as I can tell) in our area, but I like the concept and would like to pull as many people into our libraries as possible.

Have you guys heard of any library success stories with regard to foursquare.com? Maybe a different location-based social network site?

Good question, Jenny. I was dubious about foursquare till I saw this blog post by Heather Mansfield. 10 Types of Nonprofits That Absolutely Must Add Themselves to Foursquare (Museums and libraries are listed as #1 and #2 there). Let's see if we can get some early adopter libraries to tell us how it's working for them.

I'd be interested in the too. Seems we're in hicksville here--the nearest is 150 miles away. Yes, we're a smaller area but we're not that small! Nearby biggest city (20 miles away) is little under 100,000. So maybe our area is slow to accept this type of app?
