Current funding for the Gi21 program ended on September 30, 2008 and the information found in the program modules is up-to-date as of December 31, 2008. To facilitate use of the modules from now till the future continuation of the program, new documents can be posted from each module and sub-module main pages and the community discussions are open. Land is a critically important natural resource. It is defined as any part of the earth's surface that is not covered by water. Information resources about land include geography, soils, land ownership, cover, use and management.
A number of U.S. Government agencies provide information about land resources. Additionally they manage federal lands and assist private landowners in their management of land. Some of these agencies are listed in the See Also section below.
