Current funding for the Gi21 program ended on September 30, 2008 and the information found in the program modules is up-to-date as of December 31, 2008.  To facilitate use of the modules from now till the future continuation of the program, new documents can be posted from each module and sub-module main pages and the community discussions are open.  However the main module pages and documents will not be updated.  If you have any questions, please contact Kirsten Clark.


Health demographics, including statistics on diseases, pregnancies, births, aging, and mortality, are important factors in making life decisions as well as necessary components for education and reports.

This handout walks users through CDC Wonder, a database that provides one-stop shopping for reports and articles published on public health concerns, as well as reference materials and bibliographies on health-related topics, and allows for queries of CDC numeric data with downloadable results.

  • Centers for Disease Control - CDC WONDER

    WONDER stands for Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research. This database provides one-stop shopping for reports and articles published on public health concerns; reference materials and bibliographies on health-related topics; and queries of CDC numeric data with downloadable results.
     
  • National Center for Health Statistics - NCHS Data Warehouse

    The NCHS provides detailed statistical data on births, deaths, marriage and divorce. Health data for all ages is also covered, including pregnancy and birth, healthcondition/risk factors, health status and disability, health care access and use, and mortality.
