Small Business Organizations and Agency Resources
Organizations and government agencies are quite often an excellent source of local and regional data. The following are good sources to recommend to your patrons.

State Agencies

All states have a web site with links to their economics, business, development, labor, and other business related departments. To gather information specifically on your state, go to one of the following web sites to begin your research. Generally the departmental pages are easy to navigate, but it is also useful to use the web site's search engine to help you find specific topics. State web sites will include official forms as you go through the process of registering or incorporating your company.

Not to be missed:

In addition to the interesting and useful links listed above, you can find much more at these official web sites:

Arizona

Colorado

New Mexico

Utah

Wyoming

State Data Centers

Generally State Data Centers have a librarian on staff who can work with you to provide specialized assistance. State Data Centers also have annual conferences where you can get the latest training in finding statistical information.

Federal Regional Depository Libraries

Don't forget that your regional depository libraries and their helpful staff can help you locate the resources we've mentioned throughout this guide.
