Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) Website
http://www.dtic.mil/
The Defense Technical Information Center website provides a broad range of interdisciplinary defense related publications.
There are three main ways of accessing defense related information from the Department of Defense
- DTIC Science and Technology "searches the public access research reports generated for and by the Department of Defense (including
report citations and many full-text reports).
- DoD Wide Science and Technology Web Sites provides "a collection of public scientific and technical web sites that allows
[one] to search information from elements of the defense and military [establishments]."
- DoD Web Sites "searches a wide collection of defense website in multiple domains (search can be narrowed by defense agencies,
unitified commands, the military services - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps - and other elements of the defense and military
[establishments]."
The DTIC webpage allows one to search all three of the access points listed above, they can be searched individually, one
can link to his favorite search engine (i.e., Science.gov, Google, alltheweb, or USA.gov), or one can link to a federated
search (STINET Multisearch accesses a wide variety of scientific and technical information from a broad choice of U.S. government
databases). All of the DTIC search engines offers advanced search except for the federated search engine.
