The National Technical Information Service acts as the largest central resource and provides access to well over 3 million
publications to Federally-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business related information. The NTIS collection
database http://www.ntis.gov/search/index.aspx provides coverage for NTIS publications from 1964 to the present. There is a purchase price for these publications, including
those available digitally.
The website provides multiple searching capabilities. The default is the quick search where one can search by product number,
accession number, keyword, title, author, or all. The advanced search adds the ability to select time periods, limit results
by category and source agency, use exact phrase, and exclude words. Also the database provides abstracts for NTIS reports.
