Current funding for the Gi21 program ended on September 30, 2008 and the information found in the program modules is up-to-date as of December 31, 2008. To facilitate use of the modules from now till the future continuation of the program, new documents can be posted from each module and sub-module main pages and the community discussions are open. With over 650 million acres of federal land owned and nearly 2.5 million leased, the federal government deals with several types of energy and natural resources through a variety of federal agencies. This module supplies some starting points for research into land, water, mineral, and energy resources themselves.
There is much crossover with the Environment module which focuses on resource usage and protection.
